We’re seeking a Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to step into a senior leadership role overseeing behavioral health across a growing, mission-driven FQHC serving Merced and Stanislaus Counties.
As the Director of Behavioral Health, you will lead strategy, program development, and integrated care delivery across 10 clinic sites. This is the organization’s top behavioral health leadership role, offering full ownership over clinical operations, team leadership, and system-wide outcomes.
This is a fully administrative and strategic leadership role with no caseload, ideal for a psychologist who wants to apply their expertise in data-driven care, outcomes measurement, and program design to expand access and improve population health.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership & Integration
- Lead behavioral health strategy across 10 clinic locations
- Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and partner with executive leadership to advance integrated care models
- Drive expansion of behavioral health within primary care settings
Team Leadership & Development
- Oversee and develop a team of ~12 clinicians (LCSWs, LMFTs, ASWs)
- Provide leadership, clinical consultation, and professional development
- Build a strong, accountable, and mission-aligned team culture
Program Development & Clinical Excellence
- Design and scale evidence-based, culturally responsive care models
- Implement best practices in trauma-informed care and whole-person care
- Standardize workflows, documentation, and clinical quality across sites
Quality, Compliance & Operations
- Lead quality improvement initiatives tied to patient outcomes and access
- Ensure compliance with California Board of Psychology standards, Medi-Cal, and HIPAA
- Oversee program budgets, resource allocation, and support grant-funded initiatives
Community Impact
- Represent behavioral health at the leadership level and in the community
- Build partnerships to expand access for underserved populations
What We’re Looking For
- PhD in Clinical Psychology (required)
- Active Clinical Psychologist license in California (in good standing)
- 2+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health leading multidisciplinary teams and integrated care models
- Strong understanding of Medi-Cal, documentation standards, HIPAA, and quality improvement initiatives

Schedule & Location
